Foundation plantings define curb appeal
Your shrubs and perennial beds frame the entire front of your home. When they're shaped, healthy, and cleaned up, the whole property reads as cared-for - even before anyone notices the lawn. When they're overgrown, leggy, or dead-headed unevenly, no amount of mowing makes up for it. Our shrub and perennial care service treats those foundation plantings as part of the curb-appeal package, not an afterthought.
Pruning at the right time
Different plants need different pruning windows. Spring-blooming shrubs are pruned right after they bloom; summer-blooming shrubs are pruned in early spring; many evergreens have their own narrow window. Our crews know which plants on your property need what, and we time visits accordingly so you're not sacrificing next year's blooms for this year's haircut. Where appropriate, we also do shaping cuts to keep plants in scale with the home.
Deadheading and seasonal touch-ups
Deadheading - removing spent blooms - keeps perennials looking fresh and pushes many varieties into a second flush of color. We work this into recurring visits during the growing season so your beds always look intentional rather than tired. We also handle light weeding around plantings as part of these visits.
Fall cutbacks
In fall, we cut back perennials that don't hold winter interest, leave standing the ones that do (for birds and visual texture), and clean up any debris that would otherwise smother the bed over winter. This sets up a clean spring start and dramatically reduces the work needed during your spring cleanup.
